SPRINGBORO, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - A Springboro company is pushing the boundaries of innovation to help patients heal. PDi has launched medTV to transform how the healthcare world interacts.

The device, similar to a giant smartphone, is meant to provide comfort and relief to hospital patients says Jim Mick, General Manager for PDi Communications Systems.

“What this is meant to do is to relieve that boredom and give the patients options in a very safe product environment and you can’t drop this product, it’s permanently attached to the wall.”

The patient can adjust the TV to his or her desired position and interact on multiple levels to the outside world.

You can access everything from email, internet, social media, games, TV and patient care education and information.

The company says the device is secure.

“This whole product was designed for when you check out and leave the hospital, your information is secure and wiped clean,” says Mick. “A new patient creates a new account and it's set for them and when they leave the process starts all over again.”
